The Specialised Sports Track in Middle School was created to enrich the educational offering with a curriculum that places a strong emphasis on sport. It draws on over 18 years of experience with our Student-Athlete programme and with dedicated sports pathways in upper secondary education (Sports Science Lyceum and Sports Vocational Institute).
The sporting activities complement and enhance the standard curriculum hours of Physical Education.



• To broaden students’ knowledge and skills in physical education and sports through both theoretical and practical learning of various disciplines (including athletics, trekking, orienteering, horse riding, table tennis, handball, Olympic jumping, archery, badminton, etc.);
• To support students’ harmonious physical and psychological development;
• To foster motivation and interest by encouraging respect for oneself, for others, and for rules;
• To combine academic achievement with sporting success.
In addition to the educational sports outings and the annual Sports Week already included in the Middle School curriculum, the following activities are also offered partly conducted in English:
• Multi-sport activities during an additional afternoon session (from 2:10 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.);
• Membership in the national network of Italian middle schools with a sports focus;
• Participation in sports events and school exchange programmes;
• Meetings with prominent figures from the world of sport.
Learning foreign languages, in addition to the mother tongue and the language of schooling, allows the student to develop plurilingual and pluricultural competence and to acquire the initial tools needed to exercise active citizenship in the context in which they live, even beyond the borders of the national territory.
